SINTERING STABILIZER

Share on:
Sta The new control that has been introduced allows the automatic creation of the sintering  stabilizer for large zirconium arches. Just click on the dedicated icon and select the bridge you wish to create the stabilizer for. The system will automatically set the right position and shape of the stabilizer and adds it to the selected bridge. A plane support is added to the base to allow to set the arch vertically into the oven. In case the oven isn't high enough to contain the arch in vertical position, you can add few vertical connectors on one side of the stabilizer, and eventually on one or more element of the bridge, to machine the arch in a way to allow the horizontal positioning into the oven. It's possible to create stabilizers for complete arches but also for smaller bridges. stab2

DIMENSIONAL CHECK

Share on:
m&h_sum icona verificaIt's now available a new command to export the model in a ".MHI" file, for the dimensional check software 3DFI of M&H GmbH. This command allows the dimensional check and certification of  the implants just after the machining, straight on the machines equipped with the probe and the measuring software 3DFI. This solution avoids to loose time for re-scanning or measuring on a dedicated machine. The dimensional inaccuracy of the machine's axes are compensated thanks to the calibrating functions of the 3DFI software in order to satisfy the need of precision of results.  This function is already available for many machine tools equipped with M&H's probe and software, like: Mikron, Hermle, Roeders, DMG and others. At the moment it is possible to apply  this function to the implant's holes, but it will soon be extended to crowns and bridges.

4 AXIS IMPLANTS’ MILLING

Share on:

4-assi-rotatorio

During the import it is now possible to machine automatically 2 holes' implant on 4 axis machines. SUM3D Dental is capable to detect the 2 holes’ implant and the 4 axes machine. A roto-traslation of the implant will be performed to line-up the axes of the 2 holes along the rotation plane of the fourth axis in order to machine the holes by rotating only the fourth axis.

The automatic detection of the axes of the bridges’ cavities allows to eliminate the cavities’ undercuts during the roughing and finishing phases. This important innovation, combined with the use of  "lollipop" tools and to the new automatism for the holes' alignment, make of  SUM3D Dental an even more formidable tool and an ideal partner also on 4 axes machines.

POCKETING

Share on:
There is the new chance to split the roughing in Z in more portions. The aim of this modification is to preserve the tool from breaking and overheating. It has been noticed that during the roughing of the first side, the tool tends to rapidly turn and go down in cavities, occasionally very small, as sometimes happens to the space between two connectors. In these cases the material (e.g.: Zirconium) which is not removed could "block" the tool, impeding the cooling and stressing it too much with the risk to break it, especially on high speed machines. To avoid this problem it is now possible to split the roughing of the same side in "phases" and to perform the roughing on the opposite side between these "phases". The aim is to make an hole in the disk and consent to get back on the previous side to go on with the machining avoiding a dangerous overstock of the material removed. To set the "phase" is necessary to input the code <PORTIONn/m>, in the name of the machining, where 'n' sets the number of the phase and 'm' sets the number of total phases. For instance: <PORTION1/2> or <PORTION2/2> Example of machining sequence: - roughing of the cavities side with <PORTION1/2> - roughing of the opposite side, without codes "<PORTION...>" - roughing of the part still to be machined of the cavities’ side, with <PORTION2/2> - other machinings Otherwise: - roughing of the first portion of the cavities side with <PORTION1/2> - eventual elimination of the stock interference with the axes of the cavity, to set free the access to the cavities with strong inclination - roughing of the cavities - finishing of the borders - finishing of the cavities - roughing of the opposite side, without codes "<PORTION...>" - roughing of the part still to be machined of the cavities’ side, with <PORTION2/2> - finishing of both sides Attention: This kind of managing is still a work in progress and could be refined and improved in the calculation times and in the length of the machining tool-paths. Your tests will be very useful for future improvement. The safety of the tool-path has been tested and did not show any variation in the behaviour.

NEW FINISHING METHODS

Share on:
In the 3d curves pocketing machining like "<SPIRAL>" it is now possible to set more than one "zone" in the same machining. For instance it is possible to input, inside the machining's name, the words: <SPIRAL0/5/0.05> <SPIRAL5/0/0.15> to set which kind of machining to execute: with 0.05 mm increment for the first 5 millimetres of the cavity, starting from the "prep-line", and with 0.15mm increment for the rest of the cavity. The parameters of the "<SPIRAL...>" strategy are 3: start, end and increment. The start and the end can be negative, in this case the machining will begin from the back instead of the border.
SPIRAL DIVERSO

In this picture we set 0.05 for the first 3 mm and 0.2 from 3mm to the end of the cap.

Also this Strategy can be downoaded from the website.

DETECTION OF SINGLE AXES IN BRIDGES

Share on:
In the SUM3D Dental update currently available, it has been added the automatic detection of insertion axes during the STL import. By activating the option "undercut's optimization" singoliassi during the import it is calculated the medium axis of the bridge (as published some weeks ago), and now are calculated the insertion axes of each bore of the bridge too. Also the strategies’ management has been modified to allow the roughing and finishing of each cavity and its own axis, removing the undercut during the roughing phase.

UNDERCUTS’ OPTIMIZATION

Share on:
There's a brand new parameter for the undercuts' optimiztion during the files' import. This is very useful to reduce the undercuts at the minimum when you have to import files which aren't well positioned. Once again, what the competitors' softwares do only manually and by means of approximate visual solutions, it is automatically performed by our system, letting the operator to save time and money also in case of non expert and watchful users. siottinootti sottosquadra copia

AMICI DI BRUGG – Rimini, May 27th – 29th, 2010

Share on:
amici di brugg CIMsystem will be present at "Amici di BRUGG" – Rimini from May 27th to 29th  2010. Come to visit us:

Hall : A7 Stand 14

We will present some news:

SUM3D Dental OPTIMIZATION OF THE MACHINING CALCULATION TIME: Now in the time calculation report’s window are also present: Number of tool’s changes, Number of piece’s flips, Time of each tool’s change, Time of each piece’s flip. SUM3D Dental 3 AXES: AUTOMATIC MACHINING OF UNDERCUTS BY USING LOLLIPOP TOOLS Setting the word "SPIRAL" in the strategy's name, the undercut area are automatically detected and managed. The best undercuts' machining can be obtained by using lollipop tools also on 3 axes machines. In case you are using a machine with 3 axes + 1 roatation axis 0/180°, SUM3D Dental can remove the undercuts by using 3/4 of sphere lollipop tools. TIME’S CALCULATION

Share on:
icona Improved the time’s calculation with the new opportunity to set some machine’s parameters: the time for tool’s change (in seconds),the time for the piece’s flip (in seconds), and the coefficient of calculated time adjusting (example: 1.3). It was already possible to set the speed of rapid movement (in mm/min) to allow to add the rapid movement’s time to the calculated time. time_calculation1 copia Now in the time calculation report’s window are also present: Number of tool’s changes, Number of piece’s flips, Time of each tool’s change, Time of each piece’s flip. time_calculation2

CREATE RAW

Share on:

crea grezzo In SUM3D Dental new release it has been added a brand new command and the related icon "Create Raw". This command lets you create your own stock library. Starting from standard shapes, like the 98mm disks or from blocks, you can choose the kind of shape, the material, the disk height, the machine you want to use and the stock code. In case you choose the Zirconium material you can set the scaling factor and this will be memorized with the new stock.
